Love Your Legacy
Our Daily Bowl
A Christian welcome wagon for your church, from Love Your Legacy
LOVE, DELIVERED TO REAL DOORS
Once upon a time, when a new family moved onto a street, a welcome wagon came to the door. A basket, a smile, somebody’s muffins, and the unspoken sentence every newcomer longs to hear: you belong here, and we are glad. The wagon stopped coming. The longing never did.
This page is the wagon, back on the road, with Jesus at the wheel. It is a home for everyday servants: the meal makers, the card senders, the soup carriers, the ones who notice. If you have ever wanted to love your neighbours in a way they can hold in their hands, start here.
Where this comes from
Two stories built this page, and both are true: a Stone Soup Thanksgiving that fed a whole neighbourhood, and a simple daily bowl carried quietly, day after day. Their full telling is coming to this page.

Who is waiting to be welcomed
· Elders of the church, who poured out decades and can feel forgotten in the quiet years
· Widows and widowers, especially in the first year, when the casseroles stop and the evenings stretch
· Single moms and dads, carrying a whole household on one pair of shoulders
· Parents with new babies, who have fed everyone except themselves
· Veterans, who served everybody and ask for nothing
· New members of the church, smiling in the foyer, known by nobody yet
· New neighbours, and anyone whose name you keep meaning to learn
What love looks like, practically
· A meal, delivered warm, in a dish that never needs returning
· A pot of soup and a loaf, for a week that has gone sideways
· Cookies, because joy is also a ministry
· A card with a real sentence in it, sent through the actual mail
· Flowers on an ordinary Tuesday, no reason but love
· A ride to an appointment, a visit with no agenda, a name remembered next Sunday
Small is not a compromise here. Small, done faithfully, is the whole design.
How to begin
1. Ask your church. Elders, pastors, and office staff know who is new, who is grieving, and who would never ask. One introduction from them is worth a month of guessing.
2. Start with one. One person, one welcome, this month. Faithfulness grows better than enthusiasm.
3. Go together. Visit homes in pairs, the same wisdom as sharing Jesus safely. Leave a card at the door whenever a visit does not suit.
4. Respect every answer. A glad yes is a delight. A polite no is also honoured, with the door left warmly open.
5. Keep it up quietly. The second visit, in the third week, is the one that changes people. The wagon keeps rolling.
Coming to this page
Ask the Wagon: a way to send us a name, and ask for cookies, a card, or prayer to reach someone you love, on your behalf. Send an e-card: a Love Your Legacy card you can send through this website, with a verse to keep. Both are being built, and both will open here.
A closing prayer
Lord, make us quick to notice and slow to walk past. Put a meal in our hands and a name on our hearts, and let our neighbourhoods taste Your kindness one doorstep at a time. Amen.
