DEVOTIONALS ~ WHEN YOU FEEL ALONE
When You Feel Alone: Isaiah 41:10
Love your Legacy Devotional ~ By Tay
Opening Prayer
Jesus, my hands feel unsteady today.
There is too much to carry and not enough strength in me to carry it. Steady what feels unsteady. Hold what I cannot hold.
I am not asking for the weight to vanish. I am asking for Your hand under mine.
Amen.
Scripture Reading
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Devotional Reflection
Have you ever carried the groceries in from the car in one trip because you did not want to make two?
Bags cutting into your fingers, keys sliding, the door swinging shut at the wrong angle. Halfway up the steps, everything starts to wobble, and you do that little sideways dance, trying to steady what is clearly about to fall. That wobble is how a lot of life feels right now.
God spoke our verse to people in the middle of their wobble.
Israel was small, surrounded, and scared. They were looking at empires and feeling the ground shift under their feet. Into that unsteadiness, God does not say, “Stop wobbling.” He says, “I am with you.”
Read the promise slowly, the way you would read a note from someone who loves you.
“I am with you.” Presence first. Before strength, before help, before explanations. He does not wait for you to steady yourself before He comes near.
“I am your God.” Not a distant force. Yours. The possessive is the whole point. You belong to Him, and belonging means He takes your condition personally.
“I will strengthen you and help you.” He does not hand you a manual and wish you luck. He puts strength where yours ran out.
“I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” The right hand was the hand of power, the hand a warrior trusted. Picture it: the strongest hand in the universe, slid underneath your wobbling load, taking the weight you were never meant to carry alone.
You are not carrying your pain alone. The bags may still be heavy. The steps may still be steep. But underneath it all, there is a hand, steady and sure, holding what your fingers cannot.
That is what His nearness does. It does not always remove the load. It makes sure you never carry it by yourself.
Journaling Reflection
-
What are you carrying right now that has started to wobble in your hands?
You might start with something like: I am trying to hold my job, my grief, and my family all at once, and my fingers are slipping.
-
Where have you been trying to steady yourself before letting God come near?
It might be something small and honest, like: I keep thinking I have to get my faith together before I am allowed to ask for help.
-
What would it feel like to let His right hand slide underneath your load today, instead of white-knuckling it alone?
You could gently say: it would feel like setting down one bag at a time and letting someone stronger take the heaviest one.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, my strong and steady One,
Thank You for not waiting until I stop wobbling. Thank You for sliding Your hand underneath what I cannot carry and holding it with me.
When I feel unsteady, be my steadiness. When my fingers slip, be the grip. I am Yours, and You are mine, and that is enough for today.
Need Prayer? We would love to pray for you.
Amen.
