BC Christian Academy is an independent Christian school serving families across the Tri-Cities, from preschool and daycare through Grade 12. Nearly every BCCA student graduates, and about 95 percent of graduates go on to post-secondary studies, with Advanced Placement courses and a wide choice of electives along the way.

Their Mission

To assist the family by providing a Christ-centered, Bible-based education that inspires each student to pursue excellence in moral character, spiritual growth, academics, fine arts, physical fitness, and service to others.

The mission of BC Christian Academy, in their own words.

This year’s theme at BCCA is Put on Love, from Colossians 3:12 to 14: a call to live out Christ’s love in practical ways. The school family is wide and warm. More than 50 nations and 136 churches learn together here, cared for by more than 160 staff.

More Than a School Day

Classrooms are only the beginning here. BCCA students sing and play in music and arts programs, compete in athletics, and learn alongside friends from around the world through the school’s international program. Children who learn differently are supported through inclusive education and learning support services, and the whole school gathers around faith, chapel, and service to others.

Kids Club

For the youngest children, Kids Club is BCCA’s daycare and out of school care, home to 271 children. Families can apply for Kids Club places through the school’s admissions office.

A School Built by Families

BC Christian Academy began in September 1992, when a group of Christian families opened an independent Christian school in the Tri-Cities with 19 high school students in leased classrooms. The school grew the way families do, one faithful step at a time: new grades, new neighbourhoods, Kids Club in 2000, and in June 2020 a permanent home of their own at 1019 Fernwood Avenue. More than thirty years on, the founding families’ vision is still the heartbeat of the place.

The People Who Teach

More than 160 staff and teachers care for BCCA’s students every day, and some have been building this school for decades. Executive Director Ian Jarvie joined the staff in 1993, one year after the school opened, and leads it still.
