God is not like anyone else. He stays close, He listens, and He is always glad to see you.

How this week works: A little bit each day. Seven short readings, one for each day. Read one by yourself, or have someone read it with you. Each day has one verse, one thing to think about, and a short prayer. There is no falling behind. If you miss a day, just pick up where you left off.

Day 1: You Can Tell God Anything

Scripture: “Search me, God, and know my heart.” (Psalm 139:23)

God knows everything about you, and He loves you exactly as you are. You do not have to use fancy words when you pray. You do not have to pretend to be happy when you are not. You can tell Him the true thing, even if the true thing is small. He is never shocked, and He is never too busy.

Think of it this way. Some people are easy to talk to, and some people feel harder. God is the easiest one of all. He already knows, and He is glad you came to tell Him yourself.

Think about it: If you could tell God one true thing today, what would it be?

Prayer: God, You know my heart. Help me tell You the true things. Amen.

Day 2: God Sings Over You

Scripture: “The LORD your God is with you. He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

Did you know God sings? The Bible says He sings over you because He is so happy you are His. Like a dad humming beside a crib. Like a mom singing in the kitchen while she cooks. That is how God feels about you.

Sometimes people in our lives have hard days, and their faces look grumpy or tired. That is about their day. It is never about your worth. God’s face toward you does not change with His mood, because His love is not a mood. It is who He is.

Think about it: What song do you think God would sing over you?

Prayer: God, thank You for singing over me. Help me hear it when I feel small. Amen.

Day 3: Come Just As You Are

Scripture: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Weary means tired right down to your bones. Burdened means carrying something heavy. Jesus says if that is you, come. You do not have to clean yourself up first. You do not have to fix your feelings first. Come tired. Come messy. Come quiet. He will give you rest.

Rest with God can look like sitting still for one minute. It can look like taking three slow breaths and saying His name. It can look like telling Him, “That was a hard day,” and letting that be the whole prayer.

Think about it: What is one heavy thing you are carrying that you could hand to Jesus today?

Prayer: Jesus, I am tired, and I am coming to You just as I am. Give me Your rest. Amen.

Day 4: Perfect Love Pushes Out Fear

Scripture: “Perfect love drives out fear.” (1 John 4:18)

Have you ever felt two ways at once? You want to run to someone, and you also feel a little scared to? That happens to lots of people, even grown-ups. It does not mean anything is wrong with you. It usually means someone once felt unsafe, and your heart is still learning that God is different.

Here is the good news. God’s perfect love pushes fear out, little by little, the way morning light fills a room. He does not scold the fear away. He stays kind, and He stays close, until your heart learns He is safe.

Think about it: When do you feel a little scared to pray? What could you say to God in that moment?

Prayer: Jesus, sometimes I feel close to You and sometimes far away. Stay close until my fear gets smaller. Amen.

Day 5: Safe in His Hand

Scripture: “I give them eternal life. No one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)

Picture a baby bird held in two careful hands. That is how God holds you. Not loosely. Not by accident. On purpose, with hands that never get tired and never let go.

People can drop things. People can forget things. God never drops you and never forgets you. Not on your good days. Not on your worst days. His hand is stronger than anything that scares you.

Think about it: What does it feel like to know that God is holding you and will not let go?

Prayer: God, thank You for holding me in Your hand. I am safe with You. Amen.

Day 6: New Mercies Every Morning

Scripture: “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed. His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Mercy means kindness you did not have to earn. God pours out fresh mercy every single morning, like the sun coming up whether you remembered to watch for it or not. Yesterday’s mistakes do not use up today’s mercy. There is always more.

Trust grows in small moments. One small prayer. One small verse. One small kind thing you notice, like a friend sharing at lunch, or the rain stopping right when you needed to walk home. God is often in the small things.

Think about it: What is one small kind thing that happened today? Tell God thank You for it out loud.

Prayer: Father, thank You for new mercies this morning. Help me notice the small ones. Amen.

Day 7: Nothing Can Separate You

Scripture: “Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:39)

This is the biggest promise of the week. Nothing can separate you from God’s love. Not a bad day. Not a mistake. Not feeling far away. Not being quiet. Not even not knowing what to say. His love does not have an off switch.

You do not have to hold on to God with all your strength. He is holding on to you, and His grip is stronger than yours. That is why you can rest.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You that nothing can separate me from Your love. Thank You for holding me, for hearing me, and for staying close. I am Yours. Amen.

A Blessing to Close the Week

You did it. Seven days of learning how close God stays. Carry this sentence with you all week: God is close, and He is glad I am His.

If a day ever feels too heavy, tell a grown-up you trust. A parent, a teacher, a pastor, a grandparent. Ask them to pray with you. Asking for help is brave, and God loves to send help through people.

Rest today. He sings over you, because He says so. He is right here in the quiet with you.
